About the role

As Demi Chef de Partie, you will utilise your creative flair and passion for food to help kick off Melbourne’s newest leading restaurant, which exceeds diner’s expectations.  You will be responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes and assist with food cost controls. This role will involve catering for all meal periods and all outlets including The Douglas Bar, Executive Lounge, In Room Dining as well as Events. Specifically your role will involve:

• Preparing and presenting high quality dishes
• Keeping all working areas clean and tidy to ensure no cross contamination
• Prepare all mis-en-place for all relevant menus
• Assist in positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure food items are of a good quality and stored correctly
• Contribute to controlling costs, improving gross profit margins, and other departmental and financial targets
• Awareness departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the team
   

What are we looking for?

• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate required
• Positive attitude
• Good communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work autonomy or within a team
• Previous kitchen experience in similar role
