The Intern / Executive, Development - Asia & Australasia (A&A) reports to the Senior Vice President (SVP), Development - Asia Pacific and SVP, Development – A&A. Providing key Support to the A&A Development teams located in Singapore, Tokyo, Sydney and Delhi on project basis with significant direction and liaison will exist with the Directors working in South East Asia to secure new hotel projects for the company.

The position exists to provide a point of leverage in development deal administration / management to assist the efficiency and productivity of the Deal team (i.e. Directors, VP and SVP) in the pursuit of the strategic objective of the company to “expand our global footprint” in the development of hotels that carry our brands.


What will I be doing? 

As the Intern / Executive, Development - A&A, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  1. Development Strategy & Reporting:  With direction from the SVPs, work effectively with colleagues, industry contacts and competitors to assist in drafting Hilton’s development strategy for the various markets within the A&A with respect to our target brands and business models. Take an ownership role in reporting progress in pursuit of the strategy. Given that Singapore is the hub of the A&A Development team, there is a wider corporate dimension to strategy and reporting as it feeds into the wider enterprise of Hilton Worldwide.

  2. Lead Origination: Actively work to generate quality project leads, through all available sources, which conform to the agreed development strategy, brand strategies and technical standards. Be a self-starter and naturally inquisitive in seeking opportunities to grow our brand presence in A&A.
  3. Lead Analysis & Evaluation: Work effectively with the Development team and external parties to provide efficient and accurate assessment of project leads / opportunities to achieve an early consensus on the projects’ inherent risks and opportunities. Work with the Development team to filter opportunities and establish the appropriate prioritisation and allocation of projects. 
  4. Development Authorities (DA):  Assist Directors in the compilation of the Development Authority (business case) for projects and thereafter helping to facilitate DA passing through the internal approval process in strict accordance with the Deal Approval Policy.
  5. Other deal approval items: Requesting AOP language and prepare hotel name approval form.
  6. Project Due Diligence: Assist Directors to make certain that a complete and structured due diligence process is thoroughly conducted for all potential parties that Hilton proposes to contract with. This process is to be conducted in line with the company’s strict due diligence guidelines.
  7. Proposal and Presentation Compilation: Responsible for drafting a variety of proposals and presentations for the Development team that are targeted to a wide range of both internal and external audiences. Support objectives for each proposal or presentation, manage all aspects of preparation and on time delivery of a product of a high professional quality.
  8. Marketing: Work with the Brand team and the B2B Marketing team, actively engaged in the conceptualisation, design and production of a wide variety of Development marketing aids and collateral. Provide updated statistics to Graphic Designer for Hilton enterprise deck and other Development marketing material.
  9. Hilton Worldwide Profile: Sustain and grow the profile of Hilton Worldwide in the wider marketplace, government, business and social environs.
  10. Portfolio of Brands: Maintain up to date knowledge of the Brand portfolio and respective product initiatives and developments, in order to allow the Development team to optimally position the individual Brands and Hilton Worldwide in the market place. 
  11. Record & Retention: Maintain up to date development repository. Pitch materials, industry reports, all approved DAs.
  12. LOU Invoice: Provide finance updates on deals with LOU Signed and raising invoice. Asking developer’s updates on their pending deals for potential bad debt.

What are we looking for?

An Intern / Executive, Development - A&A serving Hilton Brands is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

  • University Degree in Finance, Commerce, Marketing, Hospitality Management or related discipline
  • Results orientated mind-set 
  • Ability to work in a non-routine and fluid environment whilst making sure the work is delivered to the highest professional standards
  • Contribute to the wider team culture of “esprit des corp” with a sense of fun, creativity and innovation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Basic financial modelling skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to use these across different management levels
  • Ability to manage a range of competing priorities and demands through time management skills
  • Fluent language skills (reading, writing and speaking). Proficiency in Chinese language will be a plus to support the Greater China & Mongolia market.
  • Able to commit 6 months contract period from December 2021 to June 2022
