What will I be doing?
As the Director, Project Procurement, you will lead the development of proposals, bids, quotations, or other documents describing organizational products and services in response to requests from prospective clients; collaborate with Hilton Supply Management (HSM) members of the sales, finance, legal, or project teams to ensure content is complete, accurate, and timely; recommends improvements to the organization's products or services based on inquiries from prospects. You will provide input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. You will obtain pricing from our operations group and/or our external partner network, schedule and run proposal kick-off meetings, facilitate key review meetings/final document review, coordinate proposal governance/sign off, document production, and delivery of the completed proposal. Additionally, you will lead estimating services to develop cost estimates and coordinate proposals for assigned estimating projects.
More specifically, you will:
Customer Focus:
- Coordinate company executive involvement with customer management.
- Direct the delivery of compliant, professionally produced proposals and responses within customer defined timeframes.
- Lead the collaborative alignments between key team members in company to plan, produce and deliver compliant proposals within a complex business environment.
- Build pricing solutions that comply with customer requirements in order to achieve their ultimate goal of securing winning bids.
- Implement and maintain document management and other systems to collect and distribute key data from hotels and suppliers to brand management teams.
Project Management:
- Secure large contracts to establish a process for providing Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and estimating activities.
- Lead resources and activities of Project Services and confers as appropriate with key partners so objectives are accomplished and assesses actual performance against standards to figure out whether the department is on target to reach its goals and takes corrective actions as needed.
- Evaluate supplier performance within targeted markets.
- Review and make appropriate adjustments in activities and expenses throughout the fiscal year to ensure peak financial results to work within departmental and project budgets.
Communication:
- Ensure communication plans as established by department head is properly executed.
- Direct coordination and review/edit proposal input from a variety of partners, typically involving contributions from sales, project teams, finance, and legal.
- Conduct effective management and communication between third party partners, the Hilton Family of Brands, and individual constituents.
- Coordinate program development and assists in communicating program to external partners, Strategic Sourcing, Hilton Family Brands, and constituents.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
- Direct the development and administration of product and service initiatives leading to steady flow of revenue to cover expenses.
- Build functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develop budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
- Handle the direct maintenance of cost data base and provide historical data based on requests.
Leadership and People Management:
- Lead the development and mentorship of Team Members to build an environment that encourages active participation and teamwork with paths for advancement and improvement.
- Identify staffing needs and lead the recruiting, selecting, hiring, training and developing of department Team Members or contingent workforce as required.
- Lead departmental processes and procedures to ensure strategies of department are carried out in accordance with department and company objectives.
- Prioritize and organize the assignment of tasks, while ensuring appropriate allocation of resources.
- Translate organizational goals and objectives into performance standards for the Department and individual positions.

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
- Ten (10) years of professional work experience within procurement, sourcing and/or purchasing
- Five (5) years of experience customer relations/customer service
- Two (2) years of team leadership experience
It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
- BA/BS Bachelor's Degree
- Four (4) years of management experience
- CPSM certification
- In-depth knowledge of hospitality supply chain management
